About Semax
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the ACTH(4-7) sequence, developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. One of the most rigorously studied neuropeptides in nootropic and neuroprotection research, Semax has a particularly strong body of evidence from Russian academic institutions where it has been used clinically for stroke recovery and cognitive rehabilitation. Its primary mechanism involves upregulation of BDNF and NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) expression, stimulation of serotonergic and dopaminergic systems, and promotion of synaptic plasticity — collectively supporting its cognitive-enhancing and neuroprotective effects. Research applications span ischaemic stroke recovery models, attention-deficit studies, anxiety and depression paradigms, and cognitive performance research. Unlike stimulant-class nootropics, Semax modulates neurotrophic factor expression rather than directly elevating catecholamines, providing a mechanism more consistent with sustainable cognitive support. Anti-inflammatory and immune-modulatory properties have also been documented. Supplied at ≥99% HPLC purity.
Usage Guidelines
